Hi there, I’m Christina (she/her)

I’m a registered counselling therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, and I offer client-centered support for individuals and families across the lifespan. That said, my heart holds a special place for children and teens. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a child and youth care worker — a role that gave me a deep respect for the challenges young people face and the strength they carry.

I believe that therapy isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about building a relationship rooted in trust, warmth, and curiosity. I work collaboratively and approach every session with the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support you in showing up just as you are — no pressure, no judgment, just space.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of folks: children, youth, adults, families, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Many of the people I’ve supported have faced tough stuff — including trauma, substance use, grief, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, disability, oppression, and systemic barriers. These experiences have shaped the lens I bring to therapy: one that is compassionate, inclusive, and always learning.

My areas of focus include supporting neurodivergent individuals, working through anxiety and trauma, and using play therapy to help clients—especially children, youth and families—express, process and explore their experiences in a safe and creative way.

Therapeutically, I take an integrative approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Theraplay, and of course — Play Therapy. I’m currently a play therapy intern with the Canadian Play Therapy Association (CAPT) and proudly sit on the board of the Atlantic Canada Play Therapy Association (ACPTA). I’m also a certified AutPlay Therapy Provider, which means I use the therapeutic powers of play to support neurodivergent kids and teens (ages 3–18) and their families. You can learn more about AutPlay here: autplaytherapy.com.

When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll find me hanging out with my partner, our cat Cleo, and our wonderfully quirky rescue pup, Nora. I’m also a lifelong figure skater, and there’s something about the crisp winter air that brings me a sense of calm and clarity (yes, winter is my favourite season).

Thanks for stopping by — I look forward to connecting with you.

Warmly,

-Christina
